In OSX Yosemite, the way for resetting LaunchPad has been changed.
New command is:
defaults write com.apple.dock ResetLaunchPad -bool true; killall Dock
Warning: By resetting LaunchPad, all settings related to LaunchPad will be removed like position of icons and groups.
